There is exciting news for all cycling and nature enthusiasts: in 2026, La SpoletoNorcia in MTB is moving to June! To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the inauguration of the Old Railway (1926–2026), the 13th edition of the event is shifting from its traditional September slot to the Republic Day long weekend.
From May 30th to June 2nd, 2026, Spoleto will transform into the capital of cycle tourism, offering participants the chance to ride across viaducts and through tunnels at a time when Umbrian nature is at its spring peak.
Program and Routes
The event will culminate on Tuesday, June 2nd, with the official departure from Spoleto at 9:00 AM. The organizers have designed five loop routes for every level of fitness:

Family (15 km): Perfect for families and those seeking a slow-paced ride to the scenic Caprareccia station. Suitable for everyone, including e-bikes.

Classic Easy Route (40 km): A variation of the historic route without overly technical sections, allowing riders to enjoy the views without pressure.

Classic (55 km): The heart of the event, crossing dirt roads, Valnerina villages, and the most iconic sections of the old railway.

Hard (75 km): For those seeking a true challenge, featuring an elevation gain of 2,200 meters and passages through Vallo di Nera and Scheggino.

Endurance (140 km): The ultimate test for highly trained cyclists looking to push their limits.
Not Just MTB: The SN Trail Run
Opening the sporting weekend will be the SN Trail Run, a mountain running race held on Sunday, May 31st. This is the perfect opportunity for those who prefer running over cycling but still want to experience the charm of the old railway tracks.
